Children all over the United States have been learning virtually for over a year due to the pandemic but, now it is time to find ways to get them back to school safely.

During this pandemic, a lot of teachers have had to come up with new ways to teach and keep their students engaged in the classroom.

Whether it is group projects or finding different videos to grab their attention consistently. One of the many things that consistently come up is how are we going to keep the children and teachers safe when is time to go back.

Some families may want their children to get the vaccine so they can attend school because they learn better when their in a physical school or some families are refusing to get the vaccine.

The city of Detroit has been asking for the proper resources to give its students and teachers the things that they need to feel safe and comfortable in school.

In an article from Fox 2 News called "Detroit schools to get $1 billion in federal aid to bring students back in-person safely" by Ingrid Kelley elaborated on the decision that was announced today.

Ingrid Kelley stated "This is the first time the federal government has given us the resources in an equitable way to get our children to the other side of the pandemic," DPSCD Supt. Dr. Nikolai Vitti said. "This will allow us to fully fund testing on a weekly basis with Covid, PPE, it is going to allow us to put a nurse in every one of our buildings, we are going to expand mental health services for all students.

"We are providing all of our employees $500 incentive to take the vaccine."

This will be a tremendous benefit for the Detroit school system to ensure safety for their staff and students for the upcoming school year.
