The Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is the country's first classical Hindu temple. The architectural origins are its historical prominence, of which parts were transported from India to the United States, and then meticulously reassembled in Stafford, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

The Mandir took 16 months and 1.3 million volunteer hours to be put together, using 33,000 hand-carved fragments of Turkish Limestone and Italian marble.

With 22 acres of grounds, visitors can walk around and marvel at beautiful white structures, Indian arts and culture, as well as Hinduism. The temple also provides an audio guide to help you through the visit.

    2. Holocaust Museum Houston (HMH)

The Holocaust Museum Houston was established in March of 1996, and it aims to educate visitors about holocaust history and serve as a remembrance center to preserve the memories of Holocaust survivors.

Passionate letters, poems, artwork, and other gifts from school students and adults alike would testify to the life-changing thoughts sparked at this one-of-a-kind facility.

With several galleries, a learning center, and exhibitions, the HMH provides a priceless source of education about human rights. The museum also showcases the importance of preserving history through art, interactive tours, and the use of media and technology.
