(DALLAS-FORT WORTH, Texas) As storms and rain continue in North Texas this week, WFAA reports that the Texas Department of Transportation has an online tool that can tell users more about local street flooding.

TxDOT’s Highway Conditions map gives information about roadway hazards, like flooding, construction, wrecks, closures, damages, parades and events and other conditions. In the menu bar on the right side, the map allows users to select “flood” — and deselect “accidents,” “closures,” “construction,” “damage” and “other” — to only see local flooding conditions.

The map will then show areas affected by flooding with icons that can be clicked on to provide more information.

The National Weather Service predicts thunderstorms and rainy weather for North Texas this week as storms pass to Central and East Texas. In addition, North and Central Texas counties, including Dallas and Tarrant, are on flash flood watch until Wednesday morning, and most counties east of Tarrant County are expected to see 4 to 6 inches of rainfall through Wednesday.
