Hungry for tacos? Looking for a reason to get out of the house, unwind, and have some fun on a Sunday afternoon? If all of that sounds good to you, then the upcoming Loteria & Tacos event is exactly what you’re looking for.

Taking place this Sunday, May 16, and running from 2 PM until 5 PM at The Tuxon Hotel here in Tucson, this is a fun, relaxing event that is designed to help you take in the last day of the weekend (and the last day before this year’s taxes are due).

There will be several things to do at the event. Beyond scarfing down tacos, mezcal margaritas will be served, as well as live music throughout the afternoon. Mexican bingo will be played. The event is completely free and you don’t need to be a guest of the hotel to come on out and have some fun.

This is a bi-weekly event that The Tuxon puts on at the hotel. So don’t worry if you miss out on the event this time around. You can join for more mezcal margaritas and tacos on May 30.

The Tuxon Hotel puts on a number of events for local Tucson residents throughout the year. If you have not been to this hotel for any of the events before it is worth checking out. It is a laid-back atmosphere with a friendly staff. It is also a great way to interact with visitors (or, if you have family members and you don’t have space for them at home, this is a good place for them to stay while allowing you the chance to take in activities together).

Some of the other local events The Tuxon puts on throughout the rest of the year include its Gentle Flow Yoga activities (every Sunday), live musical events, and some tours and activities throughout the rest of the city.

The Tuxon hotel is a part of the Marriot chain of hotels and is located at 960 S. Freeway here in Tucson.

If you have not been to one of the Loteria & Tacos events in the past you will find that the food options do vary during each visit. So the exact menu will not be known until you arrive, although don’t worry, there will be tacos served. This helps keep things fresh and exciting for the afternoon. The door prizes also change during Mexican bingo. These can be anything from discounts at the hotel to drink cards and other offers. It’s a fun way to spend the afternoon, especially if you are looking for something to do and you’re not really sure what else is going on.

After all, do you really need to hear anything else beyond tacos, mezcal margaritas, and games? Other drinks will be available at the bar throughout the afternoon, so if you would like something else there will be plenty of other drinks made available.

The activities will take place while following social distancing requirements to keep everyone safe and healthy. Typically this will take place outside so you can take in the warm weather and the sun, although there are interior options should the weather force it.

You do not need to purchase a ticket ahead of time, nor do you need to let The Tuxon know that you are coming out. All you need to do is show up around 2 PM and everything else will be taken care of. And, to stay up to date on the event and other activities, make sure to follow The Tuxon’s Facebook page. If you have any other questions regarding the event you can instant messenge The Tucson's Facebook for a quick reply.
