Here are ways to continue to support your local business in your area when the lockdown orders ease down.
The continued support will let your local business know you are still there for them. Especially now, other companies are going to be opening. Some businesses were closed for a couple of months and now can start doing online orders for curbside pickup. Go ahead and shop at these stores and help them get back on their feet.
2) Donate time, money and supplies
As companies are struggling to pay their workers or keep their business open, they are creating GoFundMe pages to help their workers receive some income. Besides donating money, you can buy a gift card to spend at a later time or purchase food from their restaurant and give it to a family in need. As masks are running low, why not buy handmade masks from your local artist. You are supporting two businesses at the same time.
3) Spread the word on social media
It doesn’t cost money for a like or a shout out to your favorite business. Please spread the news that they are still open for business. Share their pages and special offers and how the community can be supportive. The more word of mouth, tags online, the more traffic it causes and brings new customers.
4) Leave a positive review
Businesses count on positive reviews and feedback from their customers. During these hard times, a gesture of kindness can go a long way. Make sure to give those five stars to your favorite bar or bookstore and let them know how much you appreciate their service.
5) Be patient and supporting smaller local businesses is essential
Even though restrictions are going to ease up soon, it will not go back to the way it was before. It’s important to be kind and patient to work at these places. Who are risking their lives to make a living to survive. The more support these businesses get, the more jobs are created helping and the economy.
