Rhythm on the River returns for 10th year

Newport — The Cocke County Partnership’s Chamber of Commerce announced the return of the “Rhythm on the River,” summer concert series along the scenic Riverwalk in Newport.

Celebrating its 10th year, Rhythm on the River is celebrating its 10th anniversary with an impressive lineup of musical performances, food and fun for the community.

“Over the last 10 years, we’ve witnessed an incredible outpouring of support and enthusiasm from our community for Rhythm on the River,” said Chamber of Commerce Director Lynn Ramsey in a press release announcement. “We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone with our loyal attendees and newcomers alike.”

The series kicks off on Thursday, May 30 and continues every other Thursday through July. All concerts are free to the public, with concessions and beverages available for purchase. Entertainment starts at 7 p.m., with food and games set up by 6:30 pm, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere before the music begins.

Here’s the lineup for this year’s Rhythm on the River:

Club Rewind (May 30): Dive into a nostalgic journey with this energetic 80s band, promising a playlist packed with fun and memories for all.

The Griffin Band (June 13): Delight in the diverse repertoire of classic rock hits from The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and Eric Clapton.

Grits from Dumplin Valley (June 27): Returning for the 10th year, this fan-favorite band serves up a blend of southern rock, classic country, and blues to keep the crowd entertained.

The Jeff Jopling Band (July 11): Experience a unique fusion of contemporary and classic country music, enhanced by Jeff’s expertise from playing with country singer Chris Janson Band.

Legacy (July 25): Concluding the series with an electrifying performance, Legacy brings the best of rock music to the stage, promising an unforgettable show.
