Blowing Rock Art & History Museum (BRAHM) Acquires the Land Where Museum is Sited
The Blowing Rock Art & History Museum (BRAHM) formally announces the purchase of the land that is the site of the Museum from the Town of Blowing Rock. This was made possible by a gift from an anonymous donor. Prior to the purchase of the land, BRAHM owned its building, and the Town of Blowing Rock owned the land and leased it the Museum.
Wildcat Lake at Lees-McRae College opens to community for summer season
BANNER ELK — Wildcat Lake is now open to the community for summer 2024. In addition to swimming, visitors will be permitted to utilize the lake for boating and fishing and may rent pavilions and recreational equipment on site. Standard operating hours for swimming, boating, and restroom facilities are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m.−6 p.m., and Sunday 1−6 p.m. Fishing is accessible from dawn to dusk with a North Carolina fishing license.
