    Westlake boys, Newbury Park girls repeat as Marmonte League swimming champions

    The Westlake High boys team and the Newbury Park High girls team won the team titles for the second straight year at the Marmonte League Swimming Championships on Friday at Westlake High.

    The Westlake boys had two individual champions and won three relay titles to finish with 542 points. Chase Martsolf captured the 100 butterfly title in 52.63 seconds and Dylan Blietz won the 500 freestyle in 4:48.65.

    Mark Mashkovich, John de Vere, Chase Martsolf and Mason Martsolf won the 200 IM relay in 1:37.77. Mason Martsolf, Noah Loo, Lucas Blietz and Chase Martsolf won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:28.95. Lucas Blietz, Chase Martsolf, Dylan Blietz and Mashkovich won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:12.32.

    The Oaks Christian boys team finished second with 447 points. Joshua McBride was a double champion, winning the 200 freestyle in 1:41.98 and the 100 breaststroke in 57.24. Kai Johnson won the 200 IM title in 2:02.42.

    Duncan McIntosh won the 100 backstroke in 55.03 to help the Newbury Park boys team take third with 331 points.

    Calabasas finished fourth with 199 points. David Mazyan was a double champion, winning the 50 freestyle in 21.34 and the 100 freestyle in 46.75 for Agoura, which placed fifth with 147 points.

    For the second straight year, Megan Wang won two individual titles to lead the Newbury Park girls team to a first-place finish with 519 points. The sophomore repeated as champion in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.51 and the 100 backstroke in 57.17. Caroline Nyborg won the 500 freestyle in 5:30.07. Maryam Attia, Cooper Eskigian, Nyborg and Wang won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:44.25.

    Led by two double winners, the Oaks Christian girls team finished second with 472 points. Abby Kantz won the 100 freestyle in 54.00 and the 200 freestyle in 1:56.65. Mia Fabros won the 50 freestyle in 24.97 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.48. Kaila Ord won the 100 butterfly in 59.63. Nicole O'Neill, Fabros, Ord and Kantz won the 200 IM relay in 1:53.30 and Ivana Malenkovic, Charlotte Donohue, Ord and Kantz won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:46.39.

    Westlake took third in the girls standings with 337 points, followed by Agoura (221) and Calabasas (159).
