Sydney Sweeney Looked Nearly Unrecognizable with Dramatic Hair Change on Met Gala Red Carpet

Am I the only one who did a double-take when Sydney Sweeney walked onto the Met Gala green carpet ?

This year’s attendees really showed up and showed out ( especially the men ) for the annual fundraiser, which, of course, took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City . And while Zendaya completely shut down the green carpet with two (yes, two ) stylish looks that beautifully interpreted last night’s theme, “ Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion ,” her Euphoria co-star showed up in an eye-popping ensemble of her own.

For the occasion, Sweeney apparently ditched her famous blonde locks for a black bob with wispy bangs. The Anyone But You actress gave whimsical princess vibes while donning a gorgeous sky-blue Miu Miu tulle gown, which featured embroidered flowers across the exterior. She paired the look with black leather opera gloves, which instantly reminded me of Old Hollywood.

The 26-year-old actress also surprised her fans (myself included) on Instagram with an up-close video of her Met Gala dress. As she turns to face photographers, Sweeney strikes a pose in her elegant ensemble for the night. In the caption, she simply wrote, “@miumiu for MET 24.”

In the comments section, her followers shared how Sweeney’s jet-black hair reminded them of another A-list celebrity: Billie Eilish. One user commented, “I thought this was Billie Eilish.” Meanwhile, one user couldn’t stop gushing over her Met Gala ensemble, writing, “Dare I say she had the best look.”

In case you didn’t know, Sweeney made her Met Gala debut in 2022. That year, the theme was “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” and mainly consisted of a gilded glamour and white-tie dress code. According to Vogue , the actress wore a white Tory Burch dress that featured a long train and a plunging neckline.
