Clouds and cool temps defined weather across the Tri-State Area on Saturday, and now those clouds have begun to yield some showers for a few locations. Those showers will fill in throughout the overnight hours but won't be too heavy.

Low temperatures will be on the cool side, with lots of 40s in the suburbs to around 50 in the city.

As we progress into Sunday, light showers will become a steady rain, which may be moderate to heavy at times. Rainfall totals should average between a half inch to an inch.

Flooding is not anticipated, especially given that the ground is bone dry after not seeing much rain of late. The beneficial rain will not only quench the thirst of the parched vegetation, but it will also bring tree and grass pollen levels down, which have been at extremely high levels.

A stiff onshore breeze coupled with clouds and rain will prevent highs from getting out of the 50s, making it feel much more like March than May.
