The Knicks will look to bounce back on Thursday night after collapsing in game five, and Sal says it starts with Jalen Brunson, who he believes needs to redeem himself after the way game five ended.

“Tonight, I think he makes a statement in what will be a legacy game,” Sal said. “Brunson needs to lead the way in what will further his legacy as a New York Knick.

“I think he’s going to take over the game tonight. I think you’re going to get the best of Jalen Brunson…superstars rise to the occasion.”

While Sal believes a Brunson takeover is coming, much like what we saw in game four, he also says if the Knicks point guard has a game like he did in game one or two, or at the end of game five, it would open him up to criticism about being a true superstar in the league.

“He was bad in game one and game two…he hasn’t been great in this series from start to finish,” Sal said. “Game six tonight, they need their superstar to perform at the level he did all regular season…this is the first round. He’s been bad in game one and game two, and in game five down the stretch…this is a chance to respond.”
