Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders mentioned in Trump’s New York hush money trial

NEW YORK (KNWA/KFTA) — Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders was mentioned during former President Donald Trump’s New York hush money trial on April 25.

According to CNBC, former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker testified about a discussion he had with White House advisor Hope Hicks and then White House press secretary Sanders.

Pecker testified that his publishing company American Media paid $150,000 to ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal to silence negative news about Trump during the 2016 election. McDougal claimed she had an extramarital affair with Trump.

Pecker testified that after the 2016 election, he amended McDougal’s confidentiality agreement to let her speak to reporters that were reaching out to her.

Pecker said after an interview with McDougal that aired in March 2018, Trump called him and was “very aggravated” when he heard that the deal had been changed.

Pecker testified he told Trump that he planned to extend McDougal’s confidentiality agreement, a decision that he says White House staffers Hicks and Sanders approved.

This is the third day of Pecker’s testimony in the trial. He is the first witness to testify in the trial.
