A pair of MTA workers taking a food break in Midtown Manhattan were slashed by a stranger who believed they were flirting with his girlfriend when they offered to charge her cell phone, police said Tuesday.

The 30-year-old MTA track worker and a 39-year-old supervisor were eating outside the Plaza Gourmet Deli at 43rd St. and Ninth Ave shortly before 5 a.m. Monday when the clash sparked off, cops said.

The workers chatted up 28-year-old Kaila Boncy, offering to “help her charge her phone,” a police source said. That outraged Boncy’s boyfriend, Shane Jorge, who began arguing with the transit workers.

As the quarrel escalated, Jorge, 30, allegedly pulled a blade and slashed the supervisor in the neck and the track worker in the arm, cops said.

Cops soon arrived and arrested Jorge on two counts of assault — but not before Boncy allegedly jumped on the back of one of the officers who was arresting her boyfriend. She was then charged with resisting arrest and obstructing government administration.

The two transit workers were taken to Bellevue Hospital with minor cuts.
