    Storms cut short New Ulm invite for TCU track and field

    The Tri-City United track and field team traveled to New Ulm Tuesday night and competed in the weather shortened invitational hosted by the Eagles. With just 11 events reaching a conclusion, the Titans still managed to pick up a couple of first-place finishes.

    The boys top finish came in the long jump where Lucas Holicky posted a leap of 17 feet and 11.75 inches to claim second. The 4x800m relay team of Eli Viskocil, Grant Fitterer, Gavin Phelps and Peter Robrahn finished third with a time of 9:38.24.

    Conner Skluzacek finished fifth in the 110m hurdles while Parker Hanson (19.64) finished sixth.

    Girls highlights included a first place finish in the long jump by Louise Stock with a PR leap of 15’4” as Sophia Smith finished fourth with a jump of 14’2.25”. In the triple jump, Jillian Houn (32’9”) finished first while Alexis Marcussen (32’2.75” finished second.

    In the high jump, the height capped out at 4’4”, which Kirra Flicek, Kristin Siebsen and Carly Hartwig all reached. In the 110m hurdles, Kristin Siebsen and Khloe Flicek finished third and fifth with times of 18.65 and 20.07 respectively.

    TCU track and field is scheduled to return to action Thursday, May 2, when the team will host an invitational featuring several nearby schools. Events are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
