Massive dead alligator on median causes car to crash into Louisiana bayou
A massive alligator that died in a Chalmette median caused a multi-vehicle crash on Monday, ultimately leading one driver to swerve off the road and into a bayou. Kim Gritter, a spokesperson with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office, said deputies were dispatched to the 5400 block of Paris Road at 6:30 a.m. Gritter couldn't release many details regarding the incident, but she confirmed that the alligator was not killed in the crash — it had already died.
