Man sentenced in attempted homicide case
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - A Bloomer man was sentenced today for stabbing his neighbor in December 2021 in the Town of Wilson. Court documents show that on April 25, 61-year-old Adam Langiewicz was sentenced to nine years in prison, followed by five years of extended supervision, after being found guilty in February of the attempted homicide of his neighbor.
Remains of Navy sailor from MN lost in Pearl Harbor attack identified
(FOX 9) - The remains of a U.S. Navy sailor from Minnesota who died during the attack on the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor have been officially identified. Navy Fire Controlman 3rd Class William F. Gusie died during the attack on December 7, 1941. Gusie, of Stillwater, was just 19 years old when he died.

VMS eighth graders compete in National History Day for the 15th year
WOODVILLE, WI – For the 15th year, all Viking Middle School (VMS) eighth grade students participated with schools from across the nation in a rigorous academic event called National History Day (NHD). Its primary purpose is to get students excited about all types of history while developing research, critical thinking, and presentation skills. For us, an additional goal is for students to recognize that history is a part of everyday life, not just something found in a textbook.
