Memorial Hermann celebrates Graduating Junior Volunteers
Recently, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center held a reception for its graduating Junior Volunteers. There, hospital leadership recognized 20 graduating high school seniors that have volunteered weekly at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands since spring of their sophomore year. Twenty college scholarships were awarded from the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Auxiliary totaling $30,000. These student volunteers, representing public and private schools as well as home-schooling, each completed an application for their scholarship with three questions answered. Scholarship amounts varied from $750 to $4,000 per volunteer.

The dance floor once again shined bright as local community stars Danced for a CAUSE. The Woodlands Family YMCA is excited to announce that more than $61,000 and many new friends for the Y was raised at the annual YMCA Dancing with The Woodlands Stars held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott on April 26. This annual event featured local leaders as the live dance entertainment. The Woodlands Fred Astaire Dance Studio, partnered with the Y, to provide the dance partners, lessons and choreography for the community stars.
