    New Britain hospital welcomes service dog

    NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — The Hospital for Special Care in New Britain’s newest employee is helping to calm patients and staff through tail wags.

    Adele the service dog is trained to help children with autism adjust to their environment.

    Connecticut families rally for more autism resources

    Danielle and John Gonyea’s three sons are on the autism spectrum.

    They’ve been going to the Hospital for Special Care for seven years, and are excited for this new therapy service to help their children reduce anxiety, improve communication, and aid in transitions.

    Adele was trained by the Forever In My Heart Foundation and donated by The Hometown Foundation.
