Troopers share new information about fatal weekend crash on Highway 6
ROBERSTON COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - – Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on state Highway 6 and Sadberry Road. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at approximately 9:24 a.m., a 2021 GMC Sierra towing a trailer was traveling northbound. A 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe attempted to turn southbound, failed to yield the right of way – private drive, and was struck by the GMC.

Bryan woman charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
A Bryan woman was arrested Sunday for allegedly threatening to kill two people and for allegedly endangering a child, according to the Bryan Police Department. Christy Ann Galindo, 31, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, abandoning or endangering a child and two counts of obstruction or retaliation, according to Brazos County Jail records.
Fusion Peru owner dies after battling bacterial lung infection
Fusion Peru restaurant owner and chef Jorge Chunga died last Wednesday after a two-month battle with a bacterial lung infection. He was 55. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at Grace Midtown Church in Bryan. Family visitation begins at 11 a.m. and the service begins at 1 p.m. Chunga will be buried afterward at the Bryan City Cemetery.
