    Nevis boys pick up another home win; trounce Mustangs 14-4

    Devan Lindow pitched four strong innings and allowed only one run on two hits while fanning seven as Nevis beat visiting Northome-Kellher 14-4 April 30.

    The Tigers finished with 10 hits and added five free bases as they improved their record to 5-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

    Lindow, Eli Klimek, Marshall Kalm and Sam Ganley each had two hits, with Lindow scoring three runs and driving in two runs. Klimek and Kalm also had two RBIs, with Ramsey Fisher and Christian Moe each having one.

    Nevis scored two runs in the first on singles by Klimek and Kalm. Eight more runs scored in the second on Moe’s RBI double, a two-run single by Lindow, an error, a run-scoring double by Kalm, and RBI singles by both Caleb Norton and Gannon.

    Four more runs scored in the third on Klimek’s RBI single, two errors, and walks by Eli Lindow and Ganley.

    Lindow gave up his only run in the fourth. Norton relieved to start the fifth and gave up three runs on four walks, a wild pitch and two passed balls.

    Nevis has two home games this week with Red Lake and Pine River-Backus. Next week they travel to play Cass Lake-Bena, host Lake Park-Audubon and play Blackduck at Bemidji State University.
