Nevis girls hold off Laporte 2-1; Offerdahl strikes out 12

Peyton Offerdahl struck out 12 Wildcats, and Danika Anderson and Ella DeWitt each scored a run as host Nevis beat Laporte 2-1 Monday night.

Offerdahl was masterful for all seven innings, allowing one earned run on four hits and one walk.

Laporte’s Macey Morris allowed both runs on six hits, walked one and struck out one.

DeWitt and Emma Wike each had two hits for Nevis, while Anderson and Olivia Harris both had one. DeWitt and Wike each had the RBIs.

Anna Katzenmeyer, Hannah Backus, Tatiyana Wright and Morris each had a hit for Laporte. Backus scored the lone run in the sixth on Morris’ hit.

This week Nevis hosts Clearbrook-Gonvick, and next week they travel to Northome-Kelliher and host Walker-Hackensack-Akeley.
