“It's bright purple and pink and has little tiny lavender flowers. That's a really nice bright pop of color that people like and it's very easy to take care of,” Kocsis said.

According to Kocsis, a good flower for beginner plant owners is Anthuriums.

“A lot of people are also buying different kinds of ferns, they are very easy and low maintenance and great for spring,” Kocsis added.

The shop is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Joe's Farm Market & Garden Center , 307 W Sylvania Ave., Neptune City

Joe’s Farm Market in Neptune has been a landmark on the Jersey Shore for over 40 years.

Silva’s Orchids , 635 Wayside Road, Neptune Township

Silva Orchids was founded in 1957 by August Silva. "Gus" started growing orchids in 1934 and became known for his superb orchid culture.

In 1977, his sons, Anthony and Joseph, took over the business after Gus' passing and have continued the tradition of producing only quality orchids.

The shop not only offers beautiful blooms, but also fresh eggs and locally sourced honey, all produced on the Silva’s Monmouth County farm.

Silva's Orchids is open Each Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
