Natchez Early College ranked among best in nation

NATCHEZ – The Natchez Early College Academy is ranked among the top 40% of public high schools nationwide, according to U.S. News and World Report.

The school, with an enrollment of nearly 200 students in grades nine through 12, is ranked 21st within Mississippi and at No. 4,416 in the nation.

“Once again, we are overjoyed by US News’ recognition of Natchez Early College. It is truly an honor to receive the positive recognition that our students deserve, especially on the national level,” said Tony Fields, spokesman for the Natchez Adams School District. “The administration, staff, students, and parents have created a culture of high expectations, teamwork, and school pride that has produced a highly engaged learning environment.Our partnership with CoLin has provided opportunities for our students well beyond the traditional high school setting. We are so proud of the work and innovative programs that are happening now throughout the Natchez-Adams School District.”

The total minority enrollment is 92%, and 100% of students are economically disadvantaged. Natchez Early College Academy is 1 of 2 high schools in the Natchez-Adams School District. The school scored higher than the state average in reading, math and science testing.

The 2024 edition of Best High Schools includes a numerical ranking of nearly all public high schools nationwide – almost 18,000 of them – based on multiple sources of objective data. A comprehensive listing of the schools can be found here.
