Vols' Blake Burke appears to have expected Christian Moore to win the SEC most outstanding player award by his reaction

It appears as though Vols first baseman believed he knew who the SEC most outstanding player of the SEC tournament was.  And that it was not him.

However, he would be wrong.  As the Vols stood around the trophy while the tournament most outstanding player was being announced after Tennessee's 4-3 win over LSU in the final, first baseman Blake Burke tapped Moore on the back in what appeared to be a "here it comes" moment.

As it turns out, it was Burke's name that was announced, who went up to accept the award past a jubilant Moore.

When looking at the numbers, it's hard to argue with Burke as the tournament MVP.  He finished 9-17 at the plate with a game-winning home run against Mississippi State on Friday night.  Moore finished 7-22 with a home run that also proved to be the difference in a win - this time on Saturday against Vanderbilt.

Burke also was involved in perhaps the most memorable play of the day in the Vols' win over the Tigers.  With Tennessee up 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth, LSU had the bases loaded with two outs.  With a Tiger stranding far off first base, catcher Cal Stark fired a dart after a 1-0 pitch down to first, and Burke snatched it and laid a quick and accurate tag to get the out and end the inning.

To Moore's credit, he was seemingly ecstatic with the decision to name Burke the most outstanding player, clapping, smiling, and playfully pushing his teammate towards the trophy.

Now, he can work to claim a different most outstanding player award in another tournament that kicks off in under a week starting in Knoxville.
