Country music artist organizing first concert to support Mercy House

BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – A Maine-Endwell graduate who is now a country music artist in Nashville is hosting a music festival to support the Mercy House.

Recording artist Tezza is organizing and performing at the inaugural Mercy House Music Fest this Saturday at Endwell Greens.

Tickets are 25 dollars and all of the money will go to the community care shelter for the terminally ill.

Taking the stage in addition to Tezza will be recent Voice contestant Alyssa Crosby, former American Idol contestant Kevin Ludwig, Hunter Jordan from Nashville and the local group Messy Truth, bringing a range of country, pop and rock covers and originals. Tezza says she’s been a longtime supporter of the Mercy House.

“We have a music program at Mercy House that brings in music to the rooms, to the residents and their families. We’ve just had some really great feedback from that. Every time I come in from Nashville, I get to play and you meet people and it just really lightens up a room. It’s a really hard time for a lot of people and their families. We’ve had a really great response with music so we thought, ‘Why not bring that to the community?,'” she says.

Doors open Saturday at 4 and the music runs from 5 to 10:30. There will be a Cowboy Community Cookout with spiedies, sausages, salads and more for sale. And a 10 dollar raffle to win a guitar signed by Taylor Swift.
