The Tennessee Titans are entering a new era of football. After handing the keys to quarterback Will Levis, who was drafted in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Tennessee spent the entire off-season building a team around the 24-year-old. After fixing one of the NFL's worst offensive lines and adding star receiver Calvin Ridley, the Titans have added another playmaker.
Titans Reunite Tyler Boyd With Brian Callahan
The Tennessee Titans have signed former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd. The 29-year-old was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh University. He broke out in the 2018 season and followed up in 2019 with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.
While Boyd has not reached 1,000 receiving yards since, he has constantly put up 600+ yards in each season since 2018. The Bengals receiver has exactly 6,000 receiving yards and 31 total touchdowns. He also has 19 rushes for 166 yards as well. Boyd was a key contributor in Cincinnati's Super Bowl run during the 2021-22 NFL season racking up 15 receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown.
Tyler Boyd Was A Cincinnati Hero
Boyd's most famous touchdown catch is one remembered by many Buffalo Bills fans. In a must-win game for Baltimore, Boyd caught a go-ahead touchdown on 4th-and-12 to give Cincinnati the lead and win over the Ravens. This game sent the Bills into the playoffs for the first time in 18 years.
The Week 17 hero will now reunite with head coach Brian Callahan, who was the Bengals offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2023. The contract is a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million. Is this a good signing for Tennessee? I think it will be.
