Dozen Bakery , a locally owned bakery and cafe from founder Claire Meneely , has officially outgrown its quaint Wedgewood-Houston storefront at 516 Hagan St. #103 after nine years at the location. Recently filed permits reveal the new location of Dozen is slated for 2522 Grandview Ave , just a few miles away. It will neighbor the yet-to-open Cyanide Cider .

The transition is not slated to happen until next year, however, Meneely’s search for the perfect site has been a few years in the making, as noted in a recent Nashville Business Journal article.

The new 15,508-square-foot location will encompass enough space for in-house baking operations and expanding wholesale operations, ensuring high standards for quality control and an even larger reach for customers to enjoy its famous almond croissants.

Dozen originally started as a small farmer’s market vendor in 2009, and now the brand has found success in the wholesale business with partners like local Nashville shops and Whole Foods. Meneely purchased the Woodbine warehouse for around $2.8 million earlier this year, the NBJ reports.

The diverse and hyper-seasonal menu at Dozen offers options for everyone, including classic pastries with fun flavors like a chocolate honey galette, herb, parmesan and caramelized onion croissants, and yuzu jasmine madeleines. Its savory food menu has larger dishes perfect for satiating a lunch craving, with options like soup and salad combos, baguettes topped with folded eggs and local bacon, tartines, and even pot pies. Its retail space sells pantry staples like honey, jams, locally made mugs, and Dozen-branded merch.
