(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Yet another gun-related arrest has been announced at a suburban TopGolf.

Naperville Police say officers on foot patrol observed a handgun with an extended magazine in plain view on the rear driver's side floorboard of a vehicle.

When the driver came out of the facility, police say he opened the rear door and retrieved something when they searched the car.

Police say they found a loaded Glock 23 .40 caliber pistol with an extended magazine on the driver's side floorboard.

Gary Howard, 20, of Palos Park is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

A judge denied pretrial release. Howard is facing charges in Cook County, including aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated fleeing and eluding.

The explanation given for why this happens so often at TopGolf is that police are doing foot patrols of the parking lot.

“With the warm weather fast approaching, my office stands ready to work with the Naperville Police Department and authorities at TopGolf to ensure we do not have a repeat of the rash of individuals bringing a dangerous weapon to a family friendly facility that we saw last year.” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berli said in a released statement.
