    HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Bailey Lower records 500th career point for Nantucket girls lacrosse

    Bailey Lower scored her 500th (501) career point for the Nantucket girls lacrosse team as they beat Bridgewater-Raynham 14-6 on Tuesday to win their ninth straight game and remain unbeaten on the season.

    Lower finished with nine goals, two assists, and 15 draw controls, while Emerson Pekarcik had one goal and three assists for Nantucket (9-0). Mayson Lower and Cydney Mosscrop each added one goal and one assist, Evy Stahl and Dylan Damian each contributed a goal, and Claire Misurelli had five saves in goal.

    Girls Lacrosse

    Monomoy 15, Falmouth Academy 5 : Page Nash and Karen Aeveej each scored four goals for the Sharks (5-5) as they beat the Mariners (2-5). Illeana Baberdeal, Abvielle Long and Susannah Brown (eight draw controls) each had two goals,, while Charlie Clucott added goal for Monomoy. Lauren Gabri had two draw controls, and Morgan Willis had seven saves in goal.

    Faye McGuire scored three goals (six draw controls), while Natalie Hurlbut had two goals (two draw controls) for Falmouth Academy. Amelia Russell Schaffer had one draw control, while Willow Wakefield finished with 15 saves in goal.

    Nauset 14, Barnstable 13 : Zoe Labdon scored five goals, while Julia Kipperman added four goals and five assists for the Warriors (7-3) win over the Red Hawks (3-3). Sienna Reeves and Coral Punch each scored twice, while Laurel Ricard chipped in one goal and Sophia Boucher had 14 saves in goal.

    Claire Kayajan (five goals), Alyssa McEneaney (three goals, three assists), Shelby Locascio (two goals, three assists), Caroline Curley (one goal), Kayla Grady (one goal), Emelie Jonsson (one goal, one assist), Giovanna Detoledo(one assist), and Chloe Egan (two assists, six ground balls) contributed on offense, while Morgan Mueller had six saves in goal for Barnstable.

    St. John Paul II 17, Dennis-Yarmouth 12 : Sophie Philbrick scored six goals and handed out four assists for the Lions (6-4) win over the Dolphins (3-5). Emma Tucker (three goals, two assists), Katelyn Lawson (three goals), Mia Curley (two goals, two assists), Akira Umbrello (two goals, two assists), and Charlotte Sturgis (one goal, one assist) all contributed on offense for JPII.

    Cape Cod Academy 16, Falmouth 9: The Seahawks (6-2) have won three straight games, while the Clippers (5-5) snapped a three-game win streak. Ella Bartolomei led the way with five goals, two assists and three draws, while Quinn Powers had four goals, three assists, five draws, and three ground balls for Cape Cod Academy.

    Boys Lacrosse

    Falmouth 12, Martha’s Vineyard 4 : Jackson Falcone led the Clippers (9-2) with three goals as they beat the Vineyarders (2-6). Cole Gaudet, Ollie Partridge, Charlie Hosteter, Owen Meserve, Charlie Meserve, Colin Revenaugh, Jameson Murphy, Conor Cusolito, and Mike Saganic (first career) each scored a goal for Falmouth. Gavin Powderly made his second career start and made eight saves in goal, while John Cardoza and Jacob Porkka played well on defense.

    Monomoy 21, Falmouth Academy 5 : Owen Ramler (four goals, one assist), Jed Zimmerman (four goals), and Joey McKeen (three goals, two assists) led the Sharks (8-1) to the win over the Mariners (2-4). Tamer Khalil (two goals, one assist), Christian Whittle (two goals), Braden Burke (one goal, one assist), Dillon Chapman (one goal, one assist) contributed on offense.

    Brodie LaValley, Noah Metters, Max Barrett, Braeden Darling each scored a goal, while Aidan Stone (two assists), Izaiah Freeman (one assist) and Harrison Beaumont (one assists) chipped in on offense as well. The defense was led by Darling, Barrett, Jackson Morneau, Max Ramler, Cole Strzepek, Emmett Giorgio, and Javain Headley, while Jake Giorgio and Harrison Beaumont had a total of five saves in goal.

    Matt Brown finished with three goals, James Riddiford and Will Dubreuil had one goal apiece, and Tom Tortora made 15 saves in goal for Falmouth Academy.

    Nauset 17, Barnstable 10 : The Warriors (6-5) snapped a four-game slide as they beat the Red Hawks (2-9). Sawyer McCutchen (four goals) and Ryder Holm (two goals, two assists) each had four point nights, while Sam Mayhew had two goals and one assist for Nauset. Logan Poulin, Michael Flynn, and Oscar Escher each scored twice, Joey Berardi and Riley Meehan each chipped in one goal and one assist, and Brendan Peno contributed a goal.

    St. John Paul II 9, Dennis-Yarmouth 4: Taylor Richardson led the way with four goals and two assists for the Lions (5-4) as they beat the Dolphins (1-6). Kelin MacAleese (three goals), Jack Hyde (two goals), Ollie Affonso (one assist), Daniel Cordeiro (one assist) contributed on offense, while Maki Gordon had 10 saves in goal.

    Baseball

    Sturgis 7, Upper Cape 3: Sturgis (3-4) defeated the Rams (10-1) and snapped their 10-game win streak and unbeaten start to the season. Ben Conlon pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts, while Chris Hereford had a bases-clearing triple in the seventh inning that gave Sturgis (3-4) the lead.

    Starter Nolan Roche pitched five scoreless innings, allowed three hits, and struck out six with two walks for Upper Cape (10-1). Logan Ewell had a RBI single and Mitchell Kirkland had a sacrifice fly for the Rams.

    Sandwich 6, Cohasset 1 : The Blue Knights (7-2) have won four in a row and seven of their last eight games. Joe Coughlan pitched six innings, allowed four hits, and struck out 14 and had two hits and two RBIs for Sandwich. Matt Sullivan, Luke Morrison, and Jack Mulcahy (three RBIs) each had two hits.

    Softball

    Marshfield 14, Dennis-Yarmouth 0 : Savannah Azoff had the only hit of the game for the Dolphins (3-6) with a single in the top of the fifth inning.

    Holbrook 21, Mashpee 0 : The Falcons fall to 0-7 on the season.

    Monomoy 12, Carver 0 : The Sharks (8-1) have won five a in a row.

    Bourne 11, Old Colony 6 : The Lady Canalmen (2-6) broke a six-game slide for their second win of the season.

    Cohasset 12, Sandwich 0 : The Lady Knights fall to 1-7 on the season.

    Girls Golf

    Monomoy 5, Barnstable 1 : The Sharks (8-0) remain unbeaten as they beat the Red Hawks at Cranberry Valley. Ava Larocco, Yu Ying Zou, Emily Layton, Sally Watson, and Georgia Storey each scored a point for Monomoy. Megan Garthee scored the lone point for Barnstable.

    Nauset 5, Dennis-Yarmouth 1: The Warriors (3-3) picked up the win over the Dolphins (1-6) at Bass River Golf Course.

    Boys Tennis

    Martha’s Vineyard 4, Barnstable 1 : In a battle of one-loss teams, the Vineyarders (5-1) picked up the win over the Red Hawks (6-2). Zak Potter defeated Brennan Riley in first singles (6-0, 6-4), while Caleb Dubin beat Harry Baroni in second singles (6-1, 6-1) for Martha's Vineyard.

    Kyle Levy and Otis Forrester defeated Mike Higginbotham and Dean Cordeiro in first doubles (6-4, 6-3), while Tommy Flynn and Henry Wansizwicz beat Thomas Berger and Andy Coombs in second doubles (6-2, 6-4) for the Vineyarders. Connor O'Reilly defeated Kert Kleeman in third singles (6-2, 6-4) for Barnstable.

    Seekonk 3, Bourne 2 : The Canalmen (3-6) have lost three straight matches.

    Mashpee 3, Middleborough 2 : The Falcons (5-4) picked up the win as they swept the singles matches. Colin Burdge beat Connor McNaughton in first singles (6-3, 6-2), James Benners beat Teddy Collins in second singles (6-4, 6-4), and Andrew Kelley won third singles (6-4, 6-3) over Alden Birkett for Mashpee.

    Girls Tennis

    Martha’s Vineyard 5, Barnstable 0 : The Vineyarders (4-4) recorded the win over the Red Hawks (2-5). Laina Dubin defeated Isodora Brandao in first singles (6-0, 6-1), Leah Thompson beat Sofia Tymchyshn in second singles (6-2, 6-1), and Zoe Treitman won third singles (6-0, 6-0) over Ayla Camelo for Martha's Vineyard.

    Sophia Balsas and Ellie Pennington defeated Kate Cording and Maddie Devoe in first doubles (6-1, 7-5), while Ella Moran and Clementine Zeender beat Lilly Case and Emily Thompson in second doubles (6-1, 6-2).

    Cohasset 5, Sandwich 0 : The Lady Knights (2-7) lost on their home court.

    Middleborough 3, Mashpee 2 : The Falcons (5-5) came up short on their home court. Mariele Henley defeated Mya Dean in first singles (1-6, 6-4, 6-3), while Hannah Rogers beat Noelle St. Clair in third singles (4-6, 6-2, 6-4) for Mashpee.

    Bourne 3, Seekonk 2 : McKinley Wenzel and Anna Conlon won their singles matches, while Maeve Machlachlan and Addie Dion won their doubles match for the Lady Canalmen (4-3).

    Girls Track and Field

    Nauset 97, Sturgis 38: The Warriors recorded a victory over Sturgis.

    Boys Track and Field

    Nauset 83, Sturgis 53: The Warriors picked up a win over Sturgis.
