    WYOMING AREA TRACK AND FIELD ROUNDUPBoth teams finish perfect in WVC Division 2 again

    Wyoming Area topped Nanticoke in boys and girls track and field Tuesday, allowing both teams to complete the season as undefeated Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 champions for the third straight season.

    Both teams went 6-0 in the division.

    The Warriors have had five straight unbeaten boys seasons. They have not lost a boys meet since moving from WVC Division 1 to Division 2.

    Wyoming Area boys 130, Nanticoke 7

    Lidge Kellum won both hurdles races and two relay events to lead Wyoming Area to the rout.

    Kellum ran the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.10 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 43.2. He ran a leg of the 400 relay and anchored the 1600 relay.

    Luke Kopetchny, Colby Walsh and Ben Gravine each won two individual events.

    Kopetchny won the long jump with 19-10 and triple jump with 42-2 ¾. Walsh won the 800 in 2:15 and the 1600 in 5:07. Gravine threw the discus 143-7 and the javelin 144-5.

    Aaron Crossley, Brady Kearns and Gage Speece each won one individual event and were on a winning relay while Michael Janosky was part of two relay victories.

    Wyoming Area girls 92, Nanticoke 56

    Lucia Campenni won three events to lead Wyoming Area to the title-clinching victory.

    Campenni won the 100 hurdles in 18.6 seconds, the 300 hurdles in 55.1 and the high jump by clearing 4-4.

    Lily Kelleher won the 100 in 13.9 and the pole vault with 8-0.

    Ella McKernan won the 800 and two relays. Hannah Stoss won the 1600 and was on one relay win.

    Samara Campenni and Shannon Kearns were each on two winning relays.

    East Stroudsburg South Cavalier Invitational

    Wyoming Area competed in its final invitational of the regular season April 26 at East Stroudsburg.

    The girls finished fifth of 12 teams while the boys were sixth of 11.

    Stroudsburg won both titles.

    Ella McKernan set a Wyoming Area school record of 47.14 while winning the 300-meter hurdles and joined Hannah Stoss, Lucia Campenni and Shannon Kearns to win the 1600 relay in another school record time of 4:09.94.

    Taylor Gashi won the long jump and finished third in the high jump.

    Stoss was second in the 800 while Kearns was fourth in the 300 hurdles.

    Nicholas Scalzo led the boys, winning the pole vault by clearing 12-0.

    Lidge Kellum was second in the 300 hurdles, fourth in the 110 high hurdles and sixth in the triple jump.

    Ben Gravine was second in the discus.

    Luke Kopetchny, in the long jump, and Josh Mruk, in the shot put, were fourth.

    Gage Speece, in the 200, and John Turner, in the shot put, were fifth.
