MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly telling someone “I’m going to kill you, let me in,” before assaulting them, according to a Myrtle Beach police report obtained by News13.

Jason Steven Bynum, 46, was charged with first-degree assault and battery and third-degree burglary.

Myrtle Beach police responded Friday to the 1000 block of Poplar Drive for an aggravated assault. When they arrived, the victim and a witness said they heard Bynum knocking on the door saying “let me in.”

Bynum allegedly continued banging on the door before telling the victim “I’m going to kill you, let me in,” according to the report. The witness said Bynum then walked through the front porch and found a window where he entered the home.

The victim told Bynum, who does not live in the home, that he wasn’t allowed inside, the report said. After entering, Bynum allegedly starting hitting the person, including in the back of the head which caused a large laceration and left a large trail of blood on the kitchen floor, hallway and hallway bathroom countertop.

The witness told police Bynum then left the home and got into the passenger seat of a vehicle, according to the report. The driver of the vehicle was given a misdemeanor charge after admitting to knowing the wrong tag was on it.

Earlier this month, five people were arrested after police conducted a search warrant due to numerous “quality of life” concerns at a home on the same block. That home faces 24 violations, according to documents obtained by News13.
