Nashville Chief of Police and Howard County Sheriff speaks at Nashville Rotary Club Meeting
Wednesday, Nashville Police Chief Amy Marion and Howard County Sheriff Bryan McJunkins spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club about their Shop with a Cop program. Marion said the Nashville Police Department has participated in the program since 2018. She said her department as applied for and received a Shop with a Cop grant from Wal-Mart every year. And, this year, Andi Green at Rehab Specialist donated all of the proceeds from her Harvest Fest to the department this year. Marion said they will take around 65 kids from the Nashville School District shopping this Friday. She said each child will have $175 to spend for Christmas.
Pretrial date set for Murfreesboro man charged of rape

Delight man arrested for domestic battery
On Friday November 10th, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call that was in regard to a domestic occurring at 94 Strawberry Rd in Delight. According to the affidavit, the suspect 29-year-old Derenzo Preston of Delight had taken a glass bottle and allegedly hit Tracy Stone in her face while she was in the bathroom. Stone reportedly informed officers that when she and Preston had left the bathroom and went into the bedroom, Preston began to hit her face again. Pike County Deputy Bret Reid reported that he noticed some bruising and swelling around Stone’s right eye.
