Two Arrested After Lake County Crash Turns Up Drugs, Cash
(Lake Forest, IL) Two people were taken into custody after a crash in Lake Forest that turned into a drug arrest. The incident took place on Tuesday when a vehicle crashed along Route 41 at Westleigh Road. Two people fled from the vehicle but were caught a short time later. Drugs were found in the vehicle, and a K9 search turned up more narcotics, along with about 10-thousand-dollars in cash. 32-year-old Marco Barete of Skokie was charged with varying drug and traffic related charges. 23-year-old Lizbeth Flores of Highwood faces a trio of drug charges.

According to a crime report by the Des Plaines Police Department, on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 4:28 a.m., a patrolling officer heard a scream from a woman who was found knocking on a store's front door. The officer made contact with the woman, who said she had been struck by a car. The police report noted the woman's "clothes were wet and disheveled, showing signs of an incident occurring."

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Lake County man is accused of bilking a woman out of money for home repairs, but he never did the work.The victim said she hired Arturo Hernandez-Uribe to install new windows, a septic tank, and a garage door - among other repair projects.It was supposed to be done two years ago. In all, she paid him $147,000.Investigators said bank records show he deposited the money but none of the repairs were made.
