Muncie SWAT team raids alleged drug dealer’s home, uncovers large amount of fentanyl pills

MUNCIE, Ind. — A SWAT team raid on an alleged drug dealer’s home in Muncie led to police uncovering a large amount of fentanyl — a drug that can kill with only a single pill.

Antron Young, 18, was arrested on Tuesday after a two-month drug dealing investigation led to a SWAT team raiding his home.

Court documents reveal that undercover officers bought pressed fentanyl pills from Young as part of the two-month investigation. On Tuesday, SWAT descended upon Young’s home in the 600 block of W. 9th Street after he left the residence.

As SWAT made entry into his home, Young was tailed by investigators and pulled over before being taken into custody.

After SWAT cleared the home, investigators searched the 9th Street home and uncovered multiple large bags of pressed M30 fentanyl pills.

A bag weighing nearly 60 grams was found in the kitchen drawer and two more bags weighing 49 grams were found in Young’s upstairs room. Police found even more fentanyl pills in a shoe box.

Other drugs found within Young’s home included cocaine, suboxone strips and 20 prepackaged bags of marijuana, police said.

Young denied dealing drugs despite the large amounts of fentanyl pills found.

Police also said money found in Young’s home was the same bills used by undercover officers in drug deals made with Young.

Court records show Young had an active warrant issued on April 17 after being charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and resisting law enforcement.

Young has a history of drug charges despite being only 18. Court records show Young has been charged with possession and/or dealing of a narcotic drug four times since March 2022.

The Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office will determine the final charges resulting from this SWAT raid. His preliminary charges included dealing in narcotic drug, dealing in cocaine and dealing in marijuana.

If charged and convicted of dealing in a narcotic drug, a Level 2 felony, Young could face between 10 and 30 years in prison.
