MOUNT STERLING, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Kentucky State Police (KSP) said an investigation is underway after a deadly crash involving a moped on Wednesday.

KSP said troopers from Morehead received a call to assist with investigating a “two-vehicle injury collision” on Owingsville Road in Mount Sterling.

Andrew Romans, 37, was heading east when KSP said Romans crossed the road’s center line, hitting Alavez Ojeda Gonzalo, who was operating a moped.

According to law enforcement, Romans continued traveling east on Owingsville Road, “leaving the roadway” after hitting the moped.

Gonzalo “suffered fatal injuries” and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, per a news release.
