Mount Pleasant Tex-Mex Restaurant Expanding to Johns Island

A popular Mt Pleasant eatery is set to expand with a second location. According to a recent permit filed with the city, San Miguel Mexican Grill & Bar plans to open at 1184 Bees Ferry Rd #105 in Johns Island .

Founded in 2019, San Miguel offers an array of Tex-Mex delights, including classic dishes like carne asada, burritos, chimichangas, and taco salads.

Although owner Luis Vera did not immediately respond to What Now Charleston ’s request for comment, patrons can expect more of the same delicious fare at the forthcoming eatery.

The Vera family, who also owns Summerville’s El Jalapeño Mexican Grill , has just begun renovations on the 4,000-square-foot Johns Island space. The project is estimated to cost roughly $275,000.
