Devastating is among the few accurate descriptions for what transpired last Tuesday afternoon on Florence Blvd as David Ray Terry, 53, and Dawn Buchanan, 57, driving separate vehicles, were killed instantly through no fault of their own. Preliminary reports are that Terry was traveling westward and Buchanan eastward when a vehicle coming off Sweetwater Ave. failed to yield. Buchanan’s instinctive reaction to avoid a collision caused her to lose control of her vehicle and careen across the narrow median headlong into Terry’s vehicle. As of press time for this article, neither the third vehicle nor its driver has been identified.

TUSCUMBIA – Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball will feature the Franklin Farriers vs. the Cumberland Club of Nashville on Sunday, May 19. The game will be played at Heinie Manush Field at Deshler High School in Tuscumbia. Game time is noon. Gates open at 11am. The teams play by the 1863 rules.
