Drunken Antics At Solomons Tiki Bar Lands Pair From Virginia Behind Bars: Sheriff
Craig Michael Conway, 53, and Alina Pitts, 30, both of Arlington, got some beer muscles while at the Tiki Bar on Charles Street in Solomons, landing them both behind bars. According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to investigate an active fight in progress at the popular bar, and upon arrival found Conway accosting and approaching on security staff.

LEONARDTOWN, Md. – On Thursday, July 25, 2024, Patrol Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from a business owner for the report of a suspicious incident that had occurred Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m. in the parking lot of an establishment located in the 25000 block of Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown, MD.
Mass. woman, NJ passenger ID’d in fatal Maryland crash; 2nd driver injured
A Lowell woman and her passenger both died in a Maryland crash on Wednesday, according to Maryland State Police. Norma Matthews, 81, was found dead when first responders arrived, state police said in a statement. Her passenger, Virginia Licata, 86, of Blackwood, New Jersey, was flown to Capital Region Medical Center and died at the hospital.

FAULKNER, Md. – Maryland State Police continue to investigate a two-car crash on Wednesday that claimed two lives and sent another to the hospital in Charles County. The deceased are Norma Matthews, 81, of Lowell, Massachusetts, and Virginia Licata, 86, of Blackwood, New Jersey. Matthews was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical services personnel. Licata was flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to Capital Region Medical Center and pronounced deceased at the hospital.

GREENBELT, Md. – U.S. District Judge Theodore D. Chuang sentenced Charmaine Miesha Brown, age 45, of Lusby, Maryland, to 30 months in federal prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release for conspiracies to commit passport fraud and wire fraud, as well as bankruptcy fraud, and making a false statement in bankruptcy proceeding. Brown was also ordered to pay $128,201.22 in restitution.
