Project Timberlake Yard of the Month

The Project Timberlake Community Organization in Mount Airy recently announced that the Yard of the Month contest is back for another year.

Area residents of the neighborhood and the group are again recognizing those who are making an effort to improve the overall quality of life in the neighborhood. Having a yard contest is an attempt to build engagement and pride among residents of the area the group said.

This is third year that the organization has sponsored the Yard of the Month contest. Those residents who participate are judged by appearance and overall curb appeal with preference shown to those homes which have not won the award in previous years.

Winners of the Yard of the Month contest win a six-month subscription to The Mount Airy News provided by the Project Timberlake Community Organization.

The group is made up of neighbors and friends in the Timberlake community, once known as Simmonstown, off Northeast Pine Street in Mount Airy. The group’s next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on May 28 at the Family Worship Center on 187 Gaylon St., Mount Airy.
