The City of Mount Airy is gearing up for a fun evening of community building with its upcoming Community Night Out honoring public safety officials.

This free event, scheduled for April 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Mount Airy, promises an evening of entertainment, education, and community building.

The event will feature a variety of activities for families to enjoy, including free hot dogs, face painting by Maria, a Touch a Truck display, and much more.

Mount Airy and neighboring public safety institutions will be out in force, offering demonstrations and educational resources to promote safety and awareness within the community.

Local fire and police departments will be on-site with interactive displays and demonstrations, allowing attendees to learn more about their work in a fun and engaging way. In addition to public safety agencies, several non-profit organizations and local community groups will be present, providing valuable information and resources to attendees.

“This event is all about bringing our community together in a fun and interactive way,” said Sgt. Stacy Inman of the Mount Airy Police Department. “It’s an opportunity for families to learn more about public safety while enjoying free food and entertainment. We’re thrilled to host an event that promotes safety and strengthens community bonds.”

Community Night Out is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Mount Airy Police Department, Mount Airy Fire Department, Mount Airy Rescue Squad, Surry County Sheriff’s Office, Surry County EMS, Mount Airy Downtown Inc. and various local organizations. The event is open to the public.
