In the last matchup for the regular season, Cougar baseball took on the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a shortened series at Schroeder Park last Friday and Saturday. Despite the severe storms that affected the Houston area, the Cougars were able to take the field and celebrate their thirteen seniors in the season finale.
TCU, Texas A&M Claim First NCAA Team Titles
STILLWATER, Okla. - The TCU men and the Texas A&M women took different routes, but both programs made history last Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center, capturing their first NCAA team titles. TCU, seeded fourth, defeated Big-12 rival Texas in a 4-3 classic, while Texas A&M, the No. 13 seed, avenged three previous losses to Georgia with a 4-1 victory in an all-SEC final.
Special Olympic athletes off to Stillwater
Guthrie's Special Olympic athletes depart for the 39th Summer Games in Stillwater last Wednesday. Escorting them were the Territorial Riders and members of the Guthrie Police Department. High school students, as well as the Upper and Central elementary students, were all outside their respective schools to give the athletes a big sendoff.
