MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — The second annual Spring Tattoo Expo in Morgantown came to a close on Sunday, but not before those in attendance got an up-close look at the skills of the artists.

Around 200 artists from across the nation gathered in Morgantown this weekend at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place to show off their skills to attendees. While tattoos were the main form of body art featured at the event, guests could also receive piercings and tooth gems.

Rocco Cunningham, the promoter and organizer of the expo, is also the owner of Pike Street Studios Tattoos and Body Piercings in Bridgeport. He expressed his love of not only tattoos but the community as well.

“We wanted to bring the expo to Morgantown originally because West Virginia did not have a convention at the time, so we brought the first one to the state and Morgantown was home so naturally it was the right thing to bring it here and build something good,” Cunningham said.

“The expo’s really become like a big family reunion for everybody and Morgantown has been quite the gracious host so we’re always thankful to be back.”

More information about upcoming expos can be found on the Tattoo Expo website .
