    One dead after shooting in Morgantown

    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — A woman was pronounced dead at the scene after a shooting in Monongalia County.

    According to a Facebook post from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department , deputies were alerted to a shooting on Falling Water Lane at around 8:30 p.m. on April 19. Upon arrival officials located a woman with an “apparent fatal gunshot wound.” She was later pronounced dead.

    Monongalia County Sheriff’s Detectives responded to investigate. Monongalia EMS, the Brookhaven Fire Department and the Cheat Lake Fire Department also responded to the incident to assist with the emergency response.

    The post states that no further information will be released by the Sheriff’s Office at this time.
