Adaptive and sensory swimming to be offered at Russell Sims
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A new program is starting this summer with Bowling Green Parks & Rec, offering adaptive and sensory swim time. On select Tuesdays, time will be offered to those who have disabilities to have a less stimulating time at the pool. Russell Sims Aquatic Center will open early from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. to facilitate a smaller population and less noise. It’s a new program but not a new mission for the department.
Smoke damage reported after fire at Windover Place Apartments in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Following a large response of first responders to Windover Place Apartments Tuesday morning, little damage was found despite a reported fire. Fire units with Bowling Green Fire Department reported a possible fire at the apartments just after 8 a.m. The units are located in the 5600 block of Russellville Road.

Superintendent discusses approved pay increase for Bowling Green city school employees
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Independent School District has announced an increase in pay for all staff members. The 5% pay raise includes everyone, from bus drivers to teachers. First-year teachers with a bachelor’s degree will begin at $45,000, and the minimum hourly wage in BGISD will be $15.75 an hour, according to the district.
