Monroe family speaks on their Family Feud experience

MONROE, La. ( KTVE/KARD ) — The Merrells, a family from Monroe, La, will appear on the hit game show Family Feud, hosted by Steve Harvey. The audition process is competitive, but the Merrells made it through.

My daughter, Dana Merrells Samuels, has always been a gamer. She teaches school and she loves games. And when she was growing up that’s all we did at family functions, they would make up a game and we would play it. So they decided to play Family Feud at my oldest daughters house, Deborah Merrells and they did a tape and sent it to my son.

Dana’s brother showed support that pushed her to submit the entire family to the show.

She sent me that tape and I told her, send that to them. If they see that tape they’ll give yall the opportunity to go. And she sent it, and a couple of months later we ended up getting an email.

The Merrells have lived in, and been involved in the Monroe community since they were in high school.

My kids went to Neville High School, Jesse was blessed to have been one of the guys that played on the last 5A championship team.

The Merrells say that their church, family and friends are all eager to know the outcome.

And of course everyone is asking, what happened? It’s not anything we can tell we signed an NDA, it would take all the fun out of it if we told you what happens so we’ll wait and see but just know, win or lose we had an awesome time.

Viewers can tune into Fox 14 on April 30, 2024, at 3:30 PM to see if the Merrells take home the cash prize or not.
