MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD)– The Southern Rail Commission announced the receipt of a $400,000 grant in March from the Federal Railroad Administration through the Interstate Rail Compacts fund, a significant milestone under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs

Act.

According to officials, this grant will play a crucial role in expanding and enhancing passenger rail services across the Southern United States, including the development of the Dallas to

Atlanta connection project with a critical route through the City of Monroe and the I-20

corridor.

These dollars will support expanded operations, allowing us to dedicate additional time and resources to the development of comprehensive and successful passenger rail corridors.

Knox Ross, Chairman of the Southern Rail Commission
