VFW Post 11041 monthly fish fry in Palmyra set for Friday
PALMYRA, Mo. — The monthly fish fry held by VFW Post 11041, 316 S. Main, will be serving from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 7. Cost is $12 for adults and $5 for children. Items on the menu will be catfish fillets, VFW spuds, baked beans, cole slaw, cornbread, dessert and drink.
Sunday performance at Hannibal Arts Council to feature hometown drummer
HANNIBAL, Mo. —The Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main, will be the site of a performance by the Marty Morrison Trio at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 16. The performance will feature an organ trio jazz ensemble format with musicians Brian Ward on organ, Adam Scholzman on guitar and Marty Morrison on drums. The trio frequently plays together in various Kansas City jazz venues but will now make the trip to visit Morrison’s hometown to perform.
Ronny Ferrel Hannibal Aquatic Center open for season with Hultgren serving as aquatics director
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Ronny Ferrel Hannibal Aquatic Center, 1700 Pleasant, opened for the season Saturday, June 1. It is open from 1 to 6 p.m. every day. Emily Hultgren is serving her first year as aquatics director, with Garrett Heaton and Madison Musgrove serving as pool managers. Head lifeguards are Emilia Bates and Nevaeh Boling.

Quincy man arrested for multiple thefts, including stealing from Quincy Fire Department
QUINCY — Quincy Police have arrested a man who they believe may have stolen a trailer, a pickup truck and a U-Haul dolly last month. On May 24, QPD received a report of a 16 foot trailer stolen from the 2300 block on North 12th. Then on May 29, a report was made of a 1993 Dodge Dakota that was stolen from the Quincy Fire Department Training Ceneer at North 18th and Seminary Road. During the same time frame, an investigation was also being conducted by the Adams County Sheriff’s Department in reference to a stolen U-Haul car dolly from the 6600 block of Broadway.
