Crandon soars in opening round victory over Spencer
CRANDON, Wis. (WJFW) - The Division 3 WIAA baseball tournament is kicking into high gear as teams are getting closer to an appearance in the Sectionals round. And for Crandon, they looked to continue to build off of a successful season and start a postseason run. Standing in the way of the Northern Lakes champs was Spencer who has had an up and down season but still looked to turn things around with a win in the opening round.
Lakeland Union outlasts Rhinelander in PK's to close out conference play
MINOCQUA, Wis. (WJFW)- A rivalry that has always come through with exciting games the past few season: Rhinelander-Lakeland Union girl's soccer. Last season, all three games ended 1-0, with the T-Birds sweeping the regular season en route to a Great Northern Conference title, but Rhinelander getting the last laugh in the playoffs to send their rival home packing. This season, Lakeland Union won the first game 1-0 in Rhinelander, and already clinched the conference title. However, with a rivalry this intense, even a game that has no effect on the conference standings can still be a fun one.
