Storm Tracker Forecast: Diminishing winds & welcome cooling ahead
It's a good idea to throw on light layers, take precautions if you suffer from allergies, and to grab your sunglasses before you head out the door Thursday. A cool system to our east is driving breezy to gusty north winds and pulling some cloud cover over our region early Thursday, but we'll have clearing skies, dry conditions and warm temperatures this afternoon from high pressure to our north and west. Partly cloudy skies and gusty north winds are on tap for the morning hours, but we'll have sunshine and lighter winds this afternoon. Temperatures are starting out in the 50's to lower 60's in the valley and foothills, and 30's in most mountain zones to start your Thursday. Sustained winds out of the north to 20mph, and gusts up to 30mph are expected early today. Winds will diminish late this morning through this afternoon and will only be up to around 10mph out of the north later today. High temperatures are projected to climb into the mid to upper 80's in the valley, 70's in the foothills, and 60's to 70's in our mountain zones later today.
