MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — The 24-year-old man charged with several felonies for crashing into a Minot liquor store has been sentenced after changing his plea to guilty.

According to the affidavit, Taylor then fled the scene. When caught by officers, he told them he had taken hallucinogenic mushrooms before getting behind the wheel and was having a ‘bad trip’.

Taylor pleaded guilty to Criminal vehicular injury, leaving the scene of an accident, and aggravated reckless driving. Judge Richard Hager sentenced Taylor to serve -two years, of a five year prison sentence- and three years of supervised probation.

Taylor is also ordered to pay $1,100 in fines and have no contact with the worker he injured.
